I was fed up to my back teeth with Raspberry Pi microcomputers just a year and a half ago. I had four of them(!) – a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B, then another one, then a Raspberry Pi 4 (base model), and then a RPi 4 (spec’d up model). ALL of them burned out on me within six months. Pieces of junk, really. And I doubt I am going to get another one. nnBut, I want some sort of tech-related project. Not just “buy a thing, use that thing” – I mean something I can build, or at least assemble. But I want it to serve a specific utility, not just a mini desktop PC that runs some distro of Linux. Like an ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit), only not used for hashing numbers to mine for Bitcoin (lol, f that), but for a specific utility that could serve me well, in some way. nnNot 100% sure I will take on this project anytime soon, as right now I think it would be a waste of money, but someday, probably.nnFor now, I am just sitting back and writing while dishes get done. No ETA on the desk just yet, but that will be sent my way soon enough. Again, no big deal and no rush (it *is* exciting, though!).nnback later
